Bulgaria expects up to 6 million tourists to visit the country's resorts during the summer season, which opened on Saturday. Tourism Minister Hristo Prodanov announced this, reports TASS.
“Preliminary calculations show that about 5,5-6 million tourists will visit Bulgaria during the summer season. We are waiting for guests from Poland, Great Britain, Hungary, Romania, Germany, the Czech Republic, Serbia and other countries, and we are also counting on Bulgarian tourists. Our country is a safe and calm tourist destination,” Prodanov said at a press conference at the Golden Sands resort dedicated to the start of the season.
Meanwhile, experts believe that holidays in Bulgaria this year will cost significantly more than last season. Rising prices for electricity, fuel and food will increase the cost of holidays for individual tourists by 15-20%. Also, prices in restaurants and cafes increased by 40-50%. Only organized tourists who purchased vouchers under last year’s contracts can feel relatively calm.
